What A Day

Today was a good day over all. My first job was not as bad as I thought it was going to be and my second job was a bit more intensive than I thought it would be. So, life goes on. Janet met up with me and we had lunch together - it is always nice when we are able to see each other during the day. She picked up some of the jobs that were on my schedule because of how long the second job was taking me - she deserves an award. We stopped at Pizza Hut on the way home and split a pizza. Mmmm good!!! I got to talk to a friend of mine that I had not heard from in over 15 years. It was great to talk to him and to hear how the Lord is blessing him and his family. He pastors a church close to Stone Mountain, Georgia. It is good to know the Lord and to have Him in my life. I am making new friends and discovering new things about myself on a regular basis. Hey, at least I'm not bored. lol Janet started her work day at 7:30 this morning so she is taking a nap - I don't blame her.

It was a wonderful day

Yesterday was just a wonderful day. We started the day off with fun and fellowship at The Harbor Worship Center our church home. We had a 30 min. mini service followed by a Sunday morning church picnic. We had approximately 300 people - with many of those being visitors. We are praying that God will bring the harvest from the seeds that were planted during this time. Janet & I rode the bike to church both in the morning and evening - it is so much fun riding together.

Ride to Darien

Today was a great day. I got up and went outside to get the bike ready for a Saturday ride. As I was getting ready I thought about how I missed having my wife with me when I ride. So I went out to the shed and started getting everything ready for her to ride. About a year ago I had decided I wanted to turn the bike into a solo ride so I took off the passenger seat and foot pegs - so today I reinstalled them. After I had everything installed on the bike I brought it up by the front door and came inside to tell Janet that we were going for ride. She was just finishing watching a movie and I knelt down on one knee in front of her and asked her if she would be my "riding wench"? She got very excited and said, of course. Janet has a great love for horses and riding on the bike is a big turn on for her - she loves being in the wind. We left the house around 8:45 and headed out toward parts unknown. Before we left town we stopped at the CMA yard sale in Kingsland so she could meet some of the CMA ladies. We stayed for about 5 min. before getting back on the road. At this point I was unsure of where we would end up so we headed north on Hwy 17. As we were riding I started to think about where we might end up. I thought about just going ahead and riding up to Savannah where we could spend the night then get up and ride back home in the morning. But due to a couple of things such as, we didn't have any overnight items and other responsibilities I had to rule that out. I then remembered a place that I had been wanting to take her for a while, Fort King George. I didn't tell her but now I knew where we were headed. Life is an adventure so from time to time we like to just set off and see where life takes us for that day. When we got to Brunswick I told her that she was going to have a day to remember. We continued riding north on Hwy. 17 - when you get to the Brunswick port there is this REALLY HIGH bridge that you have to cross over. She had never been over the bridge on a bike but she did great - you can see for miles from the top. We finally got north of Brunswick and then as we were getting to Darien she saw the signs for the fort and was very excited. We spent a couple of hours at the fort looking at the museum, watching a video and touring the buildings. We had a great time in spite of the sand gnats, wood bees and biting flies. But that is all a part of being out of doors. We rode back the same way we came and stopped to eat at Popeye's in Brunswick. On the way back through Woodbine we pulled to the side of the road for a minute - while we were pulled over 3 other bikers rode by and slowed down to see if we were alright. That is the "brotherhood" that you hear about. We got home safe and are looking forward to our next adventure of riding.
